Advanced PRP Hair Treatment
in London

PRP offers a non-surgical approach to suitable forms of hair thinning using platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood. Treatment is planned following a clinical assessment, with the aim of supporting healthier-looking hair and improved density.

Starting From £109

What Is PRP Hair Treatment?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. The treatment uses a small sample of your own blood, which is processed to separate the plasma containing a concentrated level of platelets.

The prepared plasma is injected into selected areas of the scalp to support existing hair follicles. PRP does not involve surgery, donor hair or the transplantation of grafts.

Is PRP Suitable for Your Hair Loss?

PRP may be considered when hair follicles are still active but the hair has started to become thinner or weaker.

You may be suitable for treatment if:

  • You have early or progressive pattern hair thinning
  • You want a non-surgical treatment option
  • You have areas of reduced hair density
  • Your scalp is healthy enough for treatment
  • You understand that a course of sessions may be required

PRP cannot restore hair where follicles are no longer active, and it is not appropriate for every cause of hair loss. Your clinician will assess your scalp, medical history and pattern of thinning before recommending treatment.

An Overview of the PRP
Hair Treatment Process

PRP treatment begins with a clinical assessment and normally takes place during a relatively short clinic appointment. The number and frequency of sessions will depend on your treatment plan.

  1. Consultation and Assessment

Your clinician will assess your hair loss, scalp and suitability for PRP treatment.

  2. Taking a Blood Sample

A small amount of blood is collected from your arm in the same way as a routine blood test.

  3. Preparing the Plasma

The blood is placed into a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from its other components.

  4. Treating the Scalp

The prepared plasma is injected into the selected areas of the scalp using a series of small injections.

  5. Aftercare and Review

You will receive aftercare guidance and recommendations for any further treatment or progress reviews.

Is PRP suitable for everyone?

No. PRP is for hair follicles that are still active, and it is not appropriate for every cause of hair loss. Your clinician will assess this at your consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients start with a course of several sessions a few weeks apart. Your clinician recommends a plan after assessing your hair.

Does PRP treatment hurt?

Most people feel some discomfort from the small injections. Your clinician will explain what to expect and how discomfort is managed.

Is there any downtime?

PRP requires little interruption to normal activities, although the scalp may feel sensitive for a short time after treatment.

When might I notice a difference?

Changes develop gradually over several months, and results vary between patients.

Will I need maintenance sessions?

Some patients choose occasional maintenance sessions. Your clinician will advise you at your progress reviews.

Are there risks?

As with any treatment, there are risks such as temporary redness, tenderness or swelling. Your clinician will explain them before you decide to go ahead.

Can PRP be combined with a hair transplant?

PRP may be recommended alongside a hair transplant to support existing hair. Your clinician will advise whether this is suitable for you.
